JOB SPECIFICATION  - REHEARSAL MANAGER

 

Pre-rehearsal

 

1.    Liaise with Choir Secretary after September, meet for formal rehearsal dates (following year) and book rehearsal venue, arrange keyboard availability.

 

2.    After each choir mail-shot, liaise with Choir Secretary to establish attendance, chase non replies and establish whether shortfall in any voice part for either rehearsal or concert.

 

3.    With Chairman encourage all non attendees to reconsider and draft in/secure any additional voices from outside the choir if necessary.

 

4.    Confirm attendance figures with Musical Director, Vice Chair and Librarian and agree divisii.

 

5.    Accompanist: Liaise with Concert Administrator (who will book accompanist) and check any special requirements.

 

6.    Ensure lunch venue organised.

 

 

On rehearsal day

 

1.    Arrive early, obtain keys/access to venue.  Layout seats and keyboard and organise heating (if required).

 

2.    Ensure refreshments facilities organised and tea makers available.

 

3.    Arrange choir to reflect agreed divisii.

 

4.    Organise and circulate attendance register each half day mid session.

 

 

After rehearsals

 

1.    If building is left unattended, ensure that it is secure.

 

2.    Return/secure keyboards.

 

3.    Clear hall/venue, check lights and secure venue.

 

4.    Send note to Treasurer of times of venue use, for settlement with venue provider.
